Famous Polish hospitability is reflected in the provisions regulating stay of foreigners on the territory of Poland. Therefore the permit to cross the border is granted to each foreigner, regardless of origin, confession, social or political views.
The exception applies to those who had problems with law and the minors without the supervisions of adults or when the border officer states that the declared purpose of coming is different from the actual.

Depending on the stay purpose the foreigners can stay in Poland on the basis of:
- valid passport the expiry of which does not exceed at least 3 months from the date of leaving,
